Who doesn't love bags? Seeing as I tend to pick a bag & use it to death daily, I want one that I really like. My last two bags have been nice, but nothing exciting. So I went browsing! Obviously I'd never be able to afford half the bags on this list - But despite that, I think the orange River Island one is my favourite. It might be mine..

Have you seen any gorgeous bags lately? I can never have too much choice!

Golden Globes: The Best & Worst

Last year, Aoife & I dissected the fashion at the IFTAs over on her blog. I enjoyed it & I LOVE Aoife, so this year I suggested we talk about the Golden Globes & she agreed. We'd be here all night if we looked at everything that everyone pulled out of the wardrobe, so we stuck to our favourite & most hated three.

Aoife - The Best

Zooey Deschanel
I'm a big hi-lo dress fan, and Zooey's offering on the night was amazing. The colour suited her perfectly, and the length was perfect for avoiding any JLaw-style falling-up-the-stairs incidents. Lose the cardi though, love.

Amy Poehler
Amy's dress was by far my favourite on the night. No mutton dressing as lamb, no boobs everywhere. Amy was classy, sleek, and she looked like a goddess. Let's just not mention Tina's "busy" (in the words of my Mam) disaster beside her.

Leslie Mann
Now, Leslie is fairly ridey anyway, but this dress was gorgeous. I loved the peplum in the middle, which brought a bit of excitement into what could (COULD) be considered another boring black dress.

The Worst

Sandra Bullock
Unfortunately Sandy got the event mixed up with a fancy dress party she has on next week and came looking like a packet of Dolly Mix. It can happen to anyone.

Jennifer Lawrence
I see this, and I just think of that scene in The Little Mermaid where Scuttle makes Ariel a dress out of a bin bag (or something). Clearly, Scuttle is giving it another go.

Kaley Cuoco
Kaley forgot the awards were on (she did just get married, her priorities are changed now) so ripped the curtains down and did the best she could. It didn't work for me, and I did expect better from her.

Chloe - The Best

Carly Steel
I just think Carly looks beautiful. I love the embellished neck on her dress, & it's just such an elegant look. Hair, make up, bag.. I love it all.

Kate Beckinsale
Part of me just wants to know how Kate walked in this dress. I love the material, and the metallic silver is just seriously sexy. Not a fan of the bag, but we can ignore that.

Rashida Jones
This might be completely out there, but I'm really loving it. As seen above, I just like white dresses in general, especially combined with the simple cut. The belt dividing the dress just works. Plus I love her hair & make up, this is my winner.

The Worst

Elizabeth Moss
Girl, get a hairbrush. That's the nicest thing I can say about this confused mess, it looks like there wasn't enough time to finish it but then again, the less weird material & tacky patches, the better.

Joanna Newsom
This looks like something a Barbie-mad 4 year old high on coke & Skittles would create. It's just too much. I hate salmon pink, & the frills on the lower half are bad enough, you don't need them on the sleeves too.

Kate Mara
When you're as good looking as Kate Mara, it's hard to look this bad. It does absolutely nothing for her figure (what is happening up top?) & why is there any need for a weird bit sticking out in the middle? Yuck.

So they're our picks (Big thank you to Aoife for helping me out!) - Do you agree? Let me know your favourite/ least favourite dresses, I'm sure I've missed a few!

Trinity Ball 2013

Another month, another college ball..
Last Friday was my university ball, which is the largest private party in Europe. It's basically a variety of music acts playing all over campus & is an amazing experience.

The line up this year

I admit, I was so caught up in the excitement that I forgot to take proper photos of my dress & make up - Please forgive me! But hey, I decided to post about it anyway. Mainly because it was fab-u-lous.

Oh me, oh my, what a wonderfully attractive photo.

My dress was from Asos & was €47.27, or £36. (I always buy in GBP, because it works out a lot cheaper!) I picked up shoes in New Look for €39.99 which I basically wore for a few photos, then swapped into my neon pink Converse. My necklace was Topshop & that was pretty much it!

Face
Benefit The Porefessional
MUFE HD Foundation in 118
MUFE Lift Concealer in 03
Benefit Boi-ing Concealer in 002
MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in Light

Eyes
Benefit Stay Don't Stray
MUA Glitterball Palette - Pink
Urban Decay Naked Palette - Virgin, Gunmetal, Creep
Loreal Super Liner Gel

Lips
It's awful to say but.. I forgot to apply anything! I used my lipbalm, was trying to decide on a lipstick, & got distracted. I did apply MAC Up The Amp before actually heading into the event though.

Overall, it was a brilliant night. Freezing, but so worth it! Ellie Goulding was amazing live, as were The Vaccines & Imagine Dragons. Definitely check them out if you haven't already!

Have you seen any live music recently?

January Wishlist

It's been a whole six months since I last did a wishlist post - Since then, there's been a lot of time to drool over make up, clothes & other things that I don't need but would probably give me left arm for! (I'm a rightie anyway, the other hand just gets in the way.)

5. 6.

1. Do I even have to explain this? Origins Super Spot Remover is practically a cult product. my skin isn't the worst but spots always pop up at the worst times along my chin & jaw. I like to think knowing I had an effective treatment might stop the dreaded squeezing!

2. While on the hunt for shoes to match my dress, these New Look Silver Strap Heels caught my eye. They are not my usual style at all, however.. I'm thinking they might just pair well with the dress? Time will tell.

3. Don't even ask. I KNOW it's still January. I KNOW this top would give me zero support. I KNOW I'd probably never wear it. But the simple black of this River Island Cut Out Bikini Top and matching bottoms just calls me. And won't hang up.

4. In all my Christmas excitement, I'd forgotten a lovely Make Up For Ever voucher that was in my possession. I'm thinking this Invisible Cover HD Foundation could be a dream on nights out, and still have to choose what else to pick up!

5. After a hair cut & excessive dying, my hair is crying out for some love. Lauren's Way Dream Rollers seem a lot kinder to hair than heated rollers or Velcro - There aren't a lot of reviews though, so I'm not completely sold.

6. Love them or hate them, Glamorous Disco Pants are much cheaper than the originals & are apparently the best dupe. Due to my serious love for skirts, the only trousers I turn to are jeggings so Disco Pants could be a nice alternative.

Do you have any of the above? What's on your wishlist?

Style SOS

Heuston, we have a problem.

In two weeks time, I plan on attending a ball. It's very much a Cinderella affair - Flying solo with a beautiful dress, just minus the midnight curfew. But like Cinderella.. I'm on the look-out for a glass slipper. Preferably, a pair.

But I don't know what shoes to pair with the dress! A nude, full length dress - But the skirt come to just above the knee, and is then covered by a chiffon layer, with splits. So the feet will be very much on display!

Of course, I couldn't expect my readers' help without a picture of the dress - So here it is.

Any suggestions on what style to go for? Any help is much appreciated!

July Wishlist

1. 2.
3. 4.
5. 6.

1. I love shirts - I've bought more recently than I have owned in my lifetime. I'm a stud & embellished collar fan too so this desperately needs to be mine.

2. As above, collar love right here. Ever thought a top would be amazing with a multi-coloured glittery Peter Pan collar? Just add this.

3. The blogging world and it's great aunt have been raving about YSL's new foundation so this isn't the first you'll have heard of it. I don't think this needs to be justified.

4. It's a bag.. That looks like a book! A book with the most gorgeous gold detail. I want it, & I want it to come in diary form too, so I can actually write in it. Please.

5. I only own one pair of converse - Neon pink ones. But, every girl needs some basic things that don't require army-like coordination to match an outfit together.

6. Nail polish is my weakness. Seeing as Ireland is pretty dark & dull right now, who could deny me one of the brightest shades in existence?

DO you have you eye on anything?

June Wishlist

1. 2.
3. 4.
5. 6.

1. Blusher is one product I am seriously lacking in - This cream product from Illamasqua looks divine!

2. This bedspread from UO just looks so damn cosy. I love patchwork!
3. I realised this week that I've bought more sirts in the last few months than the rest of my lie. This blue one is adorable!
4. After reading about this beauty over on Beaut.ie, I have been coveting this powder to suit my pale self!
5. Normally I'm all about the tack, but this ring is so simple, and I like it.
6. I think these are possibly the cutest shorts I have ever seen. Love!

Is there anything you're lusting after?

May Wishlist

1 - 2
3 - 4
5 - 6

1. I clicked eagerly when this picture popped up on my Newsfeed. Models Own nail wraps? Those love heart designs will be mine.

2. This is such a gorgeous shop. Despite wanting everything, I narrowed it down to the one thing I always wanted as a child - A necklace with 'C' on it.

3. I needed a massive bag for college, to fit my laptop in. As much as I love the one I got, brown oes not go with everything. Neither does this cream and beige one, but hey, it looks good.

4. My favourite flower? Daisies. This is sweet & simple, and would fit in perfectly with my black & white room at home.

5. I barely wear dresses, unless going out. But I picked up a similar dress a while back & it's become my go-to piece for a sunny day. Instant cuteness!

6. I cannot justify this. As a ginger, my bronzer is used solely for a quick contour on a night out. But everyone raves about this little beauty & I desperately want.

April Wish-list!

Hi everyone :)

Just my current wishlist – I'll be dropping hints for my birthday before long haha! (Just for reference - It's in a month and I'm perfectly willing to provide my address for any presents.)

5. 6.

  1. Absolutely. In. Love. With these shoes. They're seriously high,I'd probably cut myself with the studs, they wouldn't match anything in my wardrobe... BUT I WANT THEM.Who needs to buy food for the next few months? I'd rather splurge on these, thank you very much.

  2. Now this playsuit from River Island is definitely something I'd get wear out of – It's like a big bundle of perfectness. I have a lovely black and white playsuit that I wear to death. But a black & white playsuit with a Peter Pan collar? And a touch of leopard print? Why don't I own you already?

  3. How amazing is this purse? The colour is gorgeous! Plus it's on sale. I desperately need a new purse, as mine doesn't shut tightly so I keep losing coins (Funnily enough, this only happens after a few tequilas) but I'm genuinely holding out for my birthday. Pretty please friends?

  4. Okay, I know I don't need a new nail polish. But, shock horror – I do not own any Model's Own polishes. I have tried them, I have fallen in love, I have been extremely poor. But Indian Ocean is such a shimmery, soothing colour.. I don't own anything like it and Fleur's fab nails sold it to me!

  5. I'm not sure how to actually explain this one. I am not a very tailored, shirt-wearing person. But my housemate loves Jack Wills. And so I had a glance at their website. And so I decided that her love was totally justified and I could become a tailored, shirt-wearing person. Just for this shirt.

  6. My lust for YSL's Glossy Stains is easily understandable – Have you seen how gorgeous they look over on Beaut.ie & Fluff and Fripperies? GO LOOK. After a quick detour from lectures to Brown Thomas, I was hooked. No 15, 17, or any at all pretty please.

So that's what I'm lusting after at the moment – Have you guys spotted anything you desperately want? Leave a comment & let me know!

February Wish-List!

Hi!

This week, I've done quite a bit of window shopping, though managed to restrain myself. Here are a few of the things I've tried on/ sampled/ craved more than Bressie's phone number. (Whatta man.)

1. I tried this top on in River Island & fell in love. I do not know why - I'm not the kind of person who shows my tummy off, but with a high waisted skirt (cough, no 2) I think it's amazing.

2. And with that top, I popped on this skirt. It was a spur of the moment choice, as I originally had a leopard print mullet skirt. However, due to the cheaper price and the way it flattered me, I now want this. Hoping it doesn't look too goth-y on me.

3 & 4. This is a definite purchase, but an either-or. I'm coming to the bottom of my Mac Studio Sculpt, & my Bourjois Healthy Mix has given up the ghost. I need to spend a little to suit my incredibly pale face so hopefully either this or this are woth €28/ €44.

5. My shoulder bags are absolutely killing me, with the weight of my laptop/ So if this solution turned up in Accessorize on Grafton Street, I won't lie - I would be very tempted.

6. I have to dress 'smartly' on a college trip to Berlin in two weeks, so was having a gawk at blouses online. But it was this cute one that caught my eye. I like birds.

Anything you've been lusting after lately?

Going-out outfit & make-up

I've been wanting to re-join the blogosphere for quite a while now, but due to personal circumstances, haven't been very present online, or IRL! But seeing as it's a new year, I'm going to have a new start. I hadn't planned this blog post, (I'm trying to avoid writing an essay, & blogging is my procrastination) so photos aren't of the highest quality, etc. Hope it's okay!

This is a post dedicated to my appearance on St, Stephen's Night, which was quite a while ago. I went to my aunt's 50th birthday, then headed out to a local club afterwards.

I wore this dress. I got it in New Look, originally €24.99 but €22.46

sleeves & round neckline kept things classier. including my student discount. I am tack central, so I love animal print. Leopard, zebra, snake-skin, you name it. I admit that this dress was pretty short. I'm 5'7", so that was probably why, but of you were any taller, I'd definitely recommend tights! As you can see, I didn't opt for tights but I was a little nervous of flashing too much, especially after a few drinks! Something I love about this dress is that it's not too tight, but also not exactly 'flowy'. (It was perfect after loads of Christmas dinner!) I'm an hourglass shape, so it came in at the waist & then skimmed over my hips. I also like the idea of showing either legs or cleavage, so the longer
I'm not exactly great at accessorising, so I kept things to a minimum; my earrings were the black version of these feathery ones, also from New Look, for €3.99.

My ring was from Awear and is no longer on the website, but I believe it was around the €5 mark.

Shoes were a pair of Penney's finest black snake-skin shoes boots, at €21.

My make up was pretty stand-out, because I was in the mood for a different look. I did my usual face of:
Catrice Prime & Fine Smoothing Refiner
Mac Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation in NC 15
Catrice All Round Concealer
Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder (One shade)
Benefit Coralista

My eyes had:
Urban Decay Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion

17 Perfect Definition Eyeliner in Onyx
Silver & G
old eyeshadow from Fearne Cotton's "Made You Look, Made You Stare" palette for Boots
Eyelure Girls Aloud (Nicola) False Lashes

And I did a brighter lip than usual.
I used a Yes To Carrots Lip Butter, then tried out a Models Own lipstick in Hot
Pink. It was a big step away from my usual nudes, but I did like the neon colour!

So overall, my hair & make-up came out something like this

Either way, I had quite a good night. I wanted to try out a bit of a different look, & I didn't chicken out.
My lipstick might have faded & the shoes might have come off at the end of the night in favour of flats, but there's no pictures of the messy part of the night.. Thankfully!
I feel quite awkward ending this post actually. I know quite a few bloggers finish up by asking a question, but I don't exactly have many followers. But give it time, I might develop into a questioning, non-awkward blogger!
