Tresemme Split Remedy Leave In Treatment

Let's face it, years of dying my hair hasn't been too kind to it. While my hair is actually in pretty decent condition, I cannot get rid of split ends - I'm the girl who sits there breaking her hair off. I can't really remember why I picked this up though, I think hair care was on 3 for 2 so I decided to try something new!

Honestly, I wasn't too impressed at first. Despite applying two pumps to the ends of my damp hair every time I washed it, I could still see damaged ends. Tresemme claim that it will protect your hair from breakage, frizz & dryness but I wasn't feeling it.

But.. One weekend, I didn't bother with it when I went home. Sweet Lord, my hair felt drier than something that's incredibly dry. Honestly, it just looked like a tangled, damaged mess. While on one hand, this clearly shows that the treatment wasn't working long-term, it also meant that it was actually doing something for my hair.

So basically, it's not going to smooth your split ends into a glossy mane. But it is decent at controlling your mess of a head and smoothing the ends temporarily. I probably won't repurchase this straight away, because I like trying out new products but I do want to pick up the accompanying Masque, to see how they work together. In fairness, it has lasted over three months with use every second day, for the low sum of €7.39, so it works out nicely.

Have you tried any products that didn't seem great, until you stopped using it?

  1. I would like to the see the ingredients but I honestly think you should bin this product!
The reason your hair was bad when you stopped using it is most likely because it has some horrible ingredients in it, like silicones (anything ending is -one) mineral oil, parabens, alcohol etc. These products give the appearance of better hair but then actually put a film onto the hair so moisture and protein can't penetrate it. So after a while they essentially make the hair worse!

I'd say check the ingredients of the mask before purchasing. Or why not just make a hair mask? Honey, coconut oil, old conditioner = beautiful hair!
Honey attracts moisture and coconut oil attracts protein. Coconut oil is one of the only oils to actually be small enough to enter the hair shaft so it can actually benefit the hair from the inside out! Plus its pretty cheap.

    1. I just checked & it does contain silicones, but I find they do tame my hair to some extent! I love coconut oil but after dying my hair, don't want to strip the colour, so I'm avoiding it right now sadly & just overdosing on normal conditioner in the shower! Thanks for your information :) xx

  2. Here give the boots coconut and almond hair mask a go. I love it! Also find mane n tail to be very good for helping my dry hair out. For a quick but really amazing product get the Pennys hask hair oil. You can use it in damp or dry hair and it is so good for keeping your ends soft.

    1. Oh I will! I love coconut oil, but someone told me it strips colour & I've just dyed my hair. I have the Penneys oil & I leave it at home for weekends, but it's so cheap I should definitely just pick up another tube! X
